The 1200 Series VERSAstream™ Data Access Switch can combine data from multiple Ethernet network segments into one stream of data. A single Gigabit device, such as an intrusion detection system, protocol analyzer, or network probe can receive the aggregated data with just one network interface card (NIC).

The VS-1210BT-SFP VERSAstream™ has 10 monitor ports, so multiple Gigabit devices can receive the same data stream. This allows different monitoring and analysis devices to collect data from the same network segments at the same time, eliminating contention for access to the network.

Network administrators are no longer required to have a separate device for each network segment to achieve simultaneous 24x7 monitoring of multiple links, nor do they need to "switch" to a different segment each time they need to collect data from it. The VERSAstream™ simultaneously collects data from multiple network segments and aggregates all the data before sending it to the connected monitoring and analysis devices, expanding network visibility and reducing the number of tools needed on the network. Fewer tools means lower equipment and licensing costs. And, because the VERSAstream™ aggregates all the data before sending it to the connected network device, you can always view the entire conversation even in asymmetric routing, redundant, and load-balanced environments.

	Aggregation (Many-to-Any) Many-to-Any monitoring access aggregates network traffic and provides visibility for one or more monitoring tools into multiple network segments. Aggregate and reassemble full duplex conversations from one or more trunked links. Perfect for tools that don’t support multiple monitoring interfaces or for redundant networks, EtherChannel, load balanced servers, and asymmetrically routed traffic.
	Regeneration (Any-to-Many) Any-to-Many configurations replicate copies of identical network traffic to provide multiple tools monitoring access to the same links. In addition to eliminating contention for scarce SPAN ports and test access points, multiple tools can be connected to the same link for redundancy, testing, or advanced monitoring applications.
	Port Steering (Any-to-Any) Any of the VS-1210BT/SFP’s ten (10) ports can be configured as input (network) or output (monitoring) ports on the fly through easy to use command line interface (CLI). Any monitoring port can receive traffic from any of the other ports, eliminating the need for network managers to change complex network configurations or move tools around their network.
